COMPETITION!! Get involved!!

So, whilst we're in this rhyming mood, we thought, why not everyone join in??

Therefore...

*FANFARE*

we present...

*REPEAT FANFARE*

A Random TGN Poetry Competition!!
(Yes, such an original heading!)

- It can be about nature, sport, music... anything as long as it's poetry.
- It can be funny, sad, poignant, beautiful or startling, it's up to you...
- You just need to send it to me, the Editor, by the 25th of May to have it published on this blog!!!
- Perhaps you might even become famous when a bored rich poetry patron notices it as they peruse it in passing and decide to commission you to write an ode to go on the plinth of their statue.

So, with such opportunity, how can you resist?!

Get rhyming!! And have fun! :D

P.S. Winning poem will be chosen by anonymous vote and awarded a prize.

Lazy by Timothy Ip

Lazy… *I can sleep all day*

It’s morning,
You’re tired,
The clock says six o’clock.
Five more minutes…
Then what you feared –
Alarm in your ears.
Your fist comes down
* Breaking sound *
Bits of clock
On the ground.
Just two more minutes…
Then five…
Then ten…
After twenty, you’re still in bed,
DEAD… to the world,
But alive in dreams
So it seems.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Awake at last –
Need breakfast fast.
But what’s the time?
You go downstairs
It’s half nine – not bad
You look again
It says P.M.

Ahem...

*Coughs*
Pause.
*Coughs again*
Takes a deep breath...

Hello everyone... No no no, wait, just let me explain!

Yes, I know.

You have the right to complain.

TGN hasn't been seen for months.

TGP collapsing fast.

PM gone bust.

Editor could be dust

For all the poor consituents know...

But have no fear!

We are still here!

It's just

Life is mad

Time-wise that is

But to convince you that we still exist...

We bring you a poem*

For you to read

And make you feel better

As you while away the wait

For the next newsletter...

*see next post. This is not the actual poem!

Chips, Cabinets, and Tactics

Has our Prime Minisiter forgotten that she is... well... our Prime Minister?

Here is an excerpt of the stirring article by the former Prime Minister Barnaby Simmons, due to be published in the coming issue of the TGN.

Rosemary Williams
"...On the day of her election the Prime Minister purchased chips for the constituents. Although popular at the time, was this a sign of things to come? For since this act what has she done? How many of the TGN have been published?* How many parliament meeting have been held? In fact how many members of the Cabinet have there been appointed? Of all the above the answer is; none! What can we derive from these facts? That Rosemary Williams is disorganised, incapable, and unready for this task? Or that she is simply biding her time before launching a huge set of new policies and positions, and has needed the last three months to prepare?..."

Riveting and mind-blowing, this is just a taster of the things to come... in our first edition of 2012, apart from its brand new look, you'll also find political explosions, imaginative stories, and social updates.
Aside from that, what reaction will its charged and searching headline bring?
Watch this space!

*please note, the Editor of the TGN takes all blame for this omission.

2012!!

We hope everyone had a Happy Christmas and New Year and that you will know God's blessing this year!

    Lamentations 3:22-24
The unfailing love of the LORD never ends! By his mercies we have been kept from complete destruction. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each day. I say to myself, "The LORD is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!" (NASB)
The TGN's resolution for this year is to aim to publish an issue at least once a month!! (We'll see about that one)
And of course we know that yours are to contribute more to this esteemed publication, of course...

Here are some pictures from TG's 2011 Christmas party...

Welcome!!

Such an original title, don't you think?!
Well, welcome indeed to the wonderful one and only Tuesday Group Newsletter Blog!! (drum roll and fanfare...)
Here you will find the latest news tidbits, updates,  interesting items, gossip, photos and generally everything and anything else you can think of to do with the illustrious TGN!
Also you will probably find yourself besieged with promises that the next issue is Coming Soon, as the poor harassed Editor attempts to stave off demands about when the latest edition is to be published...
Just to mention, this blog, although fully devoted to the newsletter, is not actually a cyber version of the publication, although it will include a lot of the pieces featured in the TGN, so keep reading the hard copy if you don't want to miss out!
Finally, if you haven't expired by now, follow the blog, and ENJOY!!
